Due to the betrayal of others, will I struggle to trust?

requiring ideal conditions in order to thrive,
without those conditions it dies.

Being 38 years in a system of corruption, chaos, and confusions,
Sometimes put me in a state of delirium and sheer delusions.
Can’t believe in some of the crazy stuff I’ve seen behind these prison walls,
Reality sets in with the calm moments of the watch’n
the homies on the handball courts hitt’n balls.

It’s right there but I can’t grab it,
it was so beautiful when I had it,
I’ve hung my head down because
like the clouds in the sky when I tried to gather it up to something
it dissipated into nothing
Boots of Victory
Worn tired boots
Troop through an outstretched winding road.
Strolling through razor sharp thorns.
Blowing tumbleweed smash into them.
The leather droops in exhaustion.
Lost luck luster long ago.
Discolored from the beaming desert sun.
A Place
The walls extend for what seems an eternity,
yet there’s a claustrophobic aura to this place.
Cold and dark
You hear wails and screams all around
Voices that you can’t identify
But they are here
