Get It Done

By TA

Trying to make it through
And get to the finish line
I feel like I’m going to pass out
But I continue and keep striving
Because this is not my last lap
Never giving up
Because I know things will get better
Gotta complete my mission
And get that chedda’
So don’t sleep on me
Because I know I’m the one
So keep going
And get it done

Hey TA, I really enjoyed your poem. It is motivational and it gives the readers hope to continue to fight even when hard times come. It can be easy to lose sight of the positive things when things are tough, but this tells other not to give up. Thank you so much for sharing!

The line “I feel like I’m going to pass out” is something I can truly relate to in this moment of time. I feel as if it’s one thing after another and I can never get a break. I feel as if nobody can relate to me at the moment and I have nobody to go to, because my life is so stressful. The one thing I tell myself is that this moment will not last forever and enjoy the small things. So I hope you do the same, and I want you to know you are not alone.

God never leaves us to fend for ourselves in difficult times. He promises to be with us in all that we face, and His whole heart encompasses our pain, surrounds us in peace, and gives us incredible hope and grace to keep pressing through”Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal,” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.

You poem gives me hope to keep going. Thank you.

It is important to never give up! I have never heard the phrase “this is not my last lap”, but I think it is super powerful to remember when things are tough and seem hopeless. Great job on your poem!

From the words illustrated from this poem I can tell that you’ve gone through a great deal of hardships and tribulations in your life but refuse to give in or let sitting dogs lie. Your poem gives me the strength and motivation to continue forward and keep striving towards my goals, because I know can do it if I put my whole mind and body into it. Thank you for your strong and determined words of inspiration, I hope you reach your goals and get the rest you deserve. Keep pushing forward!

I really love the flow of this poem. I also like how readers can all relate this poem back to a time in their life when they felt like giving up, or felt like the finish line to whatever they were dealing with was just too far away. This poem gives hope to the hopeless, reminding readers that the journey to wherever you’re going is the most important part of a mission, it is the part where you experience and learn and grow the most. Great job and keep it up!

    Hi TA,

Thank you for sharing your work. This is an amazing read, and one that I think a lot of people would benefit from. It is hard to keep the focus and get the job done. There are so many distractions and obstacles. It is hard not to give up and just take the easy road. But, that easy road is not going to get you where you wanna go, only the work will make you stronger and teach you what you need for where you are going. Your encouragement is appreciated and I hope my comment finds you well. Keep working hard and know that you are loved and your work is appreciated.

    Keep Going,

    Jacey

TA, thank you for sharing your poem! Your words were very motivational and inspiring, especially for a lot of people who are ready to give up right now. Life can be hard, but having trust in yourself and knowing your strength and worth will get you far. I’m glad to see you’re not giving up, TA. These words were what I needed to hear right now, and I hope that these comments can show you how much your words can impact others. I hope to see more of your work in the future, and that you never give up on yourself!

This poem is very motivational. It made me excited to take on my day and work hard to get things done. The line “because this is not my last lap,” is very impactful. A line like this could give a reader the motivation to keep going, even if they were doubting themselves. Thank you for sharing!

This is a great way of depicting your determination and motivation for continuing to strive. This shows strength and dignity because it is not easy to not give up when times get tough. The reader can definitely feel your motivation and determination for reaching the finish line though it might be in the distance. Keep up the writing. It is great!

TA, your drive and motivation to not give up is very powerful. You talk about how you feel like you’re about to pass out, but you know that you need to continue. I can tell you are very strong, because it is not easy to persevere through hard times. Most people unfortunately give up, but I can tell that you have the drive to keep going, no matter what life throws at you. You will get it done, thank you for sharing.

Great poem about trying to work hard and make it through. Life is a constant battle to do just this. And it is all too often that we become weighed down and burdened by so many things. The author did a great job summing all of this up in only a few words.

  18. Zach on April 26, 2022 at 1:17 PM

I enjoy the feeling of optimism that this poem creates. It sounds like you are a strong believer in yourself!!

To TA, your poem “Get It Done” left me feeling inspired and motivated. The title pulled me in immediately, and so did the first stanza of “Trying to make it through”. Starting the poem with that phrase allowed me to feel the emotion from the beginning. Each word allowed me to sense the struggle you are facing, but that feeling didn’t last long. As I kept reading, your tone of voice changed to a sense of hope. The phrases “But I continue and keep striving” and “Never giving up” brought me to believe that you found the motivation within yourself to keep fighting through this time for a hopeful outcome. This spoke to me when thinking about my life and how to find motivation to better myself and my future as I continued reading. At the end of the poem “So keep going And get it done”, I ended with a smile on my face of inspiration. You wrote a poem that spoke for a story and encouragement of your own, but left me feeling like I was comparing it to my own life. We all face struggles, but it’s up to us to face them and push through to come out on the other side for the better. I don’t believe this is where your career of writing poems should end as this was a piece that was very well written. It spoke as a story of yours, but also as one that I could compare to my own life. In my own life, I have faced family struggles and at times I wanna give up, but at the end of the day the fight is worth it. Thank you for the inspiration to adjust my mindset as I go on with my days and keep pushing through no matter what. Most importantly, your feelings and emotions are always valid and the way you expressed them through the poem “Get It Done” was accomplished in a form that was personal, yet relatable.

I like this poem because it has such a good message of never giving up. It makes me feel full of hope.

  22. Jack on May 4, 2022 at 2:11 PM

I think that this is very motivational and really tells someone that there is hope

  23. Ainsley on May 4, 2022 at 2:13 PM

I can definitely relate to that. When I know I need to keep on trying and get something done even when I know that it feels like I’m going to pass out in the process of it. Its the kind of thing that makes you want to quit, but you know that you have to keep going and finish it.

“ Never giving up, Because I know things will get better” that’s such a strong line. It means so much in those small lines. Not giving up because you know that it will be worth it in the end, it’s almost like you can see the finish line and you know that you just have to keep going for a little longer.

  24. Myles on May 9, 2022 at 8:56 AM

I know how you feel. You should never give up when times are hard that should inspire you to keep going. Always push until the end because hard work you can receive a reward back.

  28. Karsen on May 9, 2022 at 3:15 PM

I really like this because I relate to it.

    So don’t sleep on me
Because I know I’m the one
    So keep going
    And get it done

I really like this one because I feel like even though it’s really hard sometimes you just have to keep going and get it done. Even though sometimes you might feel like giving up or stopping but you just have to keep going to get to the finish line.

I have had an arm injury that relates to this. I am a baseball player, and one time I was pitching and my elbow just popped. I thought that I was never going to recover and never going to play baseball again. But no I kept fighting and after weeks, even months I could finally start doing physical therapy. About a year I was back to throwing regularly and I had overcome my injury. The injury was my little knob on the side of my elbow was pulling away from the bone and popped off from being pulled so much. But since I kept fighting and never stopped I am back to normal and better than ever.

I had a arm injury one time and thought that I would never overcome it but since I kept fighting and never gave up I was back to throwing in under 6 weeks.

I like the swagger you write with. The confidence in this poem complements it’s short-but-sweet form. Reading this gave me a boost of energy to keep grinding through my day. Keep on moving on, my friend. Stay strong. And, like you said, get it done.

  32. Liz on May 14, 2022 at 11:26 PM

I like the first half of the second paragraph. It’s important to be positive I usually struggle with that too but I do know that things will get better. “And get that chedda'” is a very positive quote which I really like. It’s a very lovely poem.

  33. Katelyn Flanigan on May 18, 2022 at 12:27 AM

You will get it done and you will be great because of it! It can be hard when you feel like you aren’t going to make it or loos motivation (pass out as said in the poem) but realizing you can do it and giving it your best effort is what is important. You, yourself, everyday, are the most important thing in guiding you to your future. Decisions you make each day can effect the rest of your life and choosing to keep going when you feel like passing out is hard but it is important to do so. Always push yourself to be the best that you can be!

  34. Anna Carpentiere on September 20, 2022 at 12:51 PM

This poem is very touching and relatable. Pushing yourself is powerful and makes you become who you wish to be, but it’s important to always take a step back and admire what has been accomplished. Getting it done is refreshing and enjoyable. It’s turning in that assignment, finishing that exercise, or going on the vacation you desperately needed. Persevering and time management are critical because focusing and getting something done is caring. You got this and remember the best is yet to come!

  35. Jaxson Pawlowski on September 21, 2022 at 8:21 PM

Internal motivation I’m starting to realize is hard to come by these days! These words instantly showed me some true strength and courage to still want to get that chedda and achieve that future!

I also like how the first half of the poem is in the first person, but that last line leaves it feeling quite personal to the reader because it’s in the third person, unifying everyone.

I hope this amazing future comes sooner rather than later, and I truly believe that if people want to change and they have the willpower to overcome their adversities, they can. I wish you the best of luck on your journey! JP

Great poem on never giving up – especially not on yourself. It reeks of perseverance, will, and determination. Everyone has had that moment where they wanted to give up, but they pushed through and it was well worth the risk and the difficulties.

  37. Liz on September 22, 2022 at 9:00 PM

I enjoyed reading your poem because my days feel so tiring and somehow I feel motivated to go on. Maybe I should have a better outlook on my life, and things will get better for all of us! Keep writing because this poem is really great! 🙂

Growing up, my parents always taught me to “Never, Never, Never Give Up” and I feel as though this is the exact poem to correlate with that phrase. It is important to keep going and push to the very end. Although it may be hard, everything always works out at the end of the day. Stay strong and I appreciate you sharing your story through your amazing poem!

  39. Oshane on September 25, 2022 at 4:37 PM

Do continue to keep the faith and stay strong. We all at times feel we have reached a dead end, the end of the road, and are unsure what the future holds or if we will ever be able to rise again. It is not how much time you fall it’s how much time you take to recover, heal and rise from adversity. Keep dreaming on better days are ahead.

You managed to fit so much meaning and such a strong lesson into few words, and that’s how you know you are meant to make art. As someone who has struggled with their mental health and with the battle to keep pushing even when things get tough, this poem speaks volumes. I am going to try my best to apply the lessons of your words into my life and my mental state to motivate myself to keep going. Remember that not only will things get better, but you deserve to take up space. I have faith in you to pull through. Thank you so much for sharing the power that is your words.

Beautiful poem. Thanks for reminding us to never give up. The journey to a breakthrough or achieving anything great is never easy. Sometimes I personally want to give up on the pursuit of my dreams but i have to remind myself the reason why i want it. Let’s keep striving for greatness!

  42. Meghan on October 14, 2022 at 8:23 PM

I love this poem, it is so inspirational. It is a great mindset to have to just “get it done.” So many people suffer from procrastination which leads them to give up, but I don’t see you giving up. Keep a positive mindset, it will get you a long way!

  43. Jade on October 16, 2022 at 2:35 PM

I really like how determined you are, and that you have this goal that you want to get done. That to me is really inspirational, to never give up even when it gets tough. There is something very motivational about your poem, that you must always keep going.

  44. Adam Stomberg on October 17, 2022 at 11:43 AM

This poem is inspiring. Something a lot of this can relate to, just in different ways of life. This poem conveys that life is hard, but above all, you have to make it through. It’s motivation to me. Countless times “I feel like I’m going to pass out.” Although, you “never give up” “because I know things will get better.” We live in a world where people are one-dimensional and can only see one side of there emotions. To notice that other people struggle as well, promotes a sense of community, and people you can relate to, because otherwise you feel like an outcast and personally regarding intellectual struggles, you feel dumb. This poem serves as a bridge, it gives you that final push. This is a concept I’ve always struggled with, hence to why it sticks out to me. I loved this poem. Thank you!

  45. Olivia on October 17, 2022 at 10:35 PM

I can relate to this poem so much, as I feel like I am overwhelmed with so many things but I am also almost at the finish line, almost finished with school, and I never gave up no matter how much I wanted to. Your hope is very inspiring and you need to hold onto it; we all need to succeed, stay on top of our priorities, and get it done. You have the determination so you are headed on the right path. Great poem.

This poem is very motivational and gets a great point across. my favorite quote is “so don’t sleep on me because I know I’m the one.” This is a great quote because it shows confidence. Confidence is a big part of life that helps people succeed. Keep up the great mindset, it will pay off!

  49. Kayla on November 3, 2022 at 1:50 PM

This poem is extremely relatable. I kind of relate it to mental health. I’ve always struggled with my mental health, it feels like a never ending cycle. You’re just stuck in this box and you feel like you can never get out of it, but you have to keep going. I ended up getting help and now I’m starting to get out of that cycle and I’ve never felt better. I think this poem is so inspiring because your showing people you may be struggling to not give up and to get to the other side of the hill. You are an amazing writer and are truly an inspiration to many people. I believe in you 🙂

Hello TA, your poem was so rushing, and motivating. I can feel your perseverance written upon your words; it really is intriguing. I love how much will power you have, and how determined you are to not give up on something, a goal that you set up wanting clear success! Your words even motivate me to want to get up and make some new goals for the new year to become a fresh new version of myself that’s better than the last. I also love the mindset that you have right now. When you said “I know things will get better” is a hard thing to keep believing when pushing through struggles., However if you keep pushing through like you said then it will all be worth it I the end. The grass is always greener somewhere is the way I like to think about it. Thank you so much for sharing this poem.
I wish you well! – Aaliyah

Thank you for sharing your poem with us about striving for success and what you believe in. Many times as we pursue a new goal or dream it feels as if we will not be able to succeed at it. Discouragement can become a huge barrier towards success.

I like the line where you say “But I continue and keep striving”. It is important for us to keep striving no matter how long it takes to reach our goals.

  52. Emily on November 11, 2022 at 8:27 PM

I really like your poem TA. Your fighting till the end is a powerful thing in the world. Determination gets you far. I truly resonate with your poem. So many times have I wanted to give up and stop going on with plans and people. But knowing that there is a goal at the end, money or something else, I keep going. The reward is so promising. Keep on fighting in every day you can. Take good opportunities and keep writing. Writing is empowering in its own way. A pen and a piece of paper can be just as much of a tool as any other thing could be.

    Hi TA,

I really enjoyed reading your poem! You had a very inspiring and encouraging poem which is so great to read. I liked how you first wrote about your experience with never giving up and then ended your poem with encouraging the readers to do the same. Your poem made me remember that there are many stages to life and just because this one might be bad, it doesn’t mean your whole life will be. I think that is such an important idea to take with you through life, so I really appreciate your poem making me remember that.

  54. Safwan on November 21, 2022 at 8:42 PM

I love the rhyme scheme of your poem, it feels kind of like a song the way your syllables match up. Great message too! Keep working hard, keep grinding to reach your goals

    Hi TA,
Thank you for sharing your poem with us! I really enjoyed reading this poem. I feel the same way, in a metaphorical way, when describing the way, I move through life. I think in certain aspects it is really beneficial to think of life as a race because you are more likely want to have the will to finish it, because you want to “win.” But you have to be careful with making life feel like a race because sometimes you race by things too fast and miss out. Really awesome poem TA, Keep up the great work!

  56. Andrew on November 27, 2022 at 9:22 PM

I love the message behind this! It combines wordplay with a motivational aspect, creating something that I could put on my wall as a reminder.

This is a great mindset to have. I love that you are not getting down on yourself but instead motivating yourself and having hope for your future. This was a very nice and encouraging poem to read. It was powerful and I really enjoyed reading it, it gave me motivation to keep pushing through my own life.

  58. Jocelyn Patterson on February 4, 2023 at 2:38 PM

Thank you for sharing your words. I really like the way you wrote this poem and how the words flow. It sounds like you are using your own voice which is so special because everyone has their own. Getting things done reminds me of being productive like working out for example. No matter where you are you can always better yourself and make the best out of what you have for sure.

  59. Jazmyne on February 5, 2023 at 5:45 PM

This poem is incredibly relatable! It feels as though the struggle to get to the finish line is harder and harder each day. However, you explained it perfectly. “I know things will get better.” There’s always light at the end of the tunnel. The motivation you have is beautiful. This is a great poem, it helps us remember that there’s a reason for such a stride. If we keep pushing we will make it to our goal. Thank you for the encouraging poem!

  60. Ruben on February 9, 2023 at 10:12 PM

Hey TA, I resonate with the message of your poem because it’s all about pushing yourself to do the little things in life no matter the mood you’re in at a given moment in order to achieve your goals and really enjoy the fruits of your labor.

  61. Mitchell on February 21, 2023 at 8:54 AM

TA, I love this poem a lot because I feel as it relates to me and my mentality, I always try and finish something that I have started whether it was a lego set when I was a kid, or a goal that I put into my head earlier in the year, I feel as if I cant reach it I mine as well see how far I can go, and that I feel is what you wrote here today. Life is a race! We all face struggles, but it’s up to us to face them and push through to come out on the other side for the better.

  62. eleni on February 28, 2023 at 3:15 PM

This poem is very inspiring and delivers a strong and inspiring message. This poem is all about perseverance and pushing through no matter how hard things get. I love the metaphor, “Trying to make it through and get to the finish line. I feel like I’m going to pass out, but I continue and keep striving”. These lines create strong imagery but also deliver a powerful message; keep going no matter how hard things get. Very inspiring!

  63. TM on March 4, 2023 at 11:30 PM

To TA- It’s always difficult getting through tough times. But like you said you just got to “get it done.” Once you’ve gotten through this difficult thing and got it done you feel so relieved and maybe even proud of yourself. People always think it’s easier to give up, but is it? You’ll always have a voice in the back of your head saying why did you give up or even telling yourself you gave up because you’re too weak. So, pushing yourself to “get it done” can be the easiest and most rewarding you can do. Pushing yourself is not easy, and I’m sure in your situation it’s an everyday ordeal to push yourself and have the strength to get by. It’s always important to never give up so thank you for sharing such an inspiring poem!

  64. ML on March 5, 2023 at 9:31 PM

TA, I love this story as this actually gives me a little bit of motivation to complete all my work before I go to bed on this night, I loved how you brought in how you were feeling and where most people would give up you kept on going because you had a mission and a goal, this brings back good memories when I used to run as a kid and would want to quit because of the cramps or tiredness, but I needed to show that I wasn’t a quitter and I finish what I start.

  65. Nida orloff on March 5, 2023 at 9:35 PM

I loved this poem as it really conveyed your perseverance and determination. No matter how hard things may get, you continue to wake up every morning with a determined and positive mindset and that is a superpower within itself. Your lines also portray hope, and having hope is inspiring because it is something not many people have. With the mindset you displayed in the poem, you can make it through anything life throws at you. I hope you contain to carry that mindset through the smallest and toughest battles in life, YOU are strong. Great poem and imagery, I could picture you reading it. Amazing job.

Hey TA, this is an inspiring poem. I believe a lot of people can relate to this poem. We just need motivation to strive for success. Sometimes it can be hard to find that motivation and believing in yourself but that’s how you’ll be able to grow. Your poem does a good job on showing that perserverance. Thank you for sharing and for being so inspiring.

We all want to get from the start to the finish. It’s great to have perseverance and not give up, especially when you see your goal in sight and know that you will achieve it. Because I know I’m the one So keep going And get it done are connected and related to each other in some way.

Hello! Your determination addressed in this poem is inspiring. When things get tough, many people give up and try to achieve a new goal. But you have shown what your end goal is and how headstrong you are about getting there. I love this piece and hope you continue to create more.

This poem is very motivating. I love the powerful message behind it that gives the reader a sense of hope and maybe even inspiration. You even said that you aren’t on your last lap, but you’re still pushing. You could just make the choice to give up, but you’re still fighting. Good for you.

This poem hits close to home for me. I am currently a senior about to graduate in 3 weeks and it’s the most nerve-racking thing ever. I feel the words you were saying. “Trying to make it through and get to the finish line. I feel like I’m going to pass out.” Are truly what I am feeling. This poem made me feel better in a way that getting across this finish line no matter the goal is insanely stressful for everyone. So, thank you for making me realize that we all get this anxiety but in the end, I’ll be okay.

I feel like as a person living in a world where nothing stops this speaks to a lot of people. Not feeling like it is okay to take a break is so intense and hard to get over, but it will all be okay.

Thank you for sharing your poem. I appreciate the sense of determination and perseverance that you’ve conveyed in your words. The metaphor of a race and striving to get to the finish line is effective in conveying the sense of a goal or mission that you’re working towards. The repetition of “keep going” and “get it done” emphasizes the importance of persistence and resilience in achieving your goals.

Overall, I think your poem is a powerful reminder to stay focused and committed to your dreams, no matter how challenging the journey may be. Keep pushing forward and believing in yourself, and you will reach the finish line. Keep writing and expressing yourself through poetry!

    Hello TA,
I really like this poem because of the sense of perseverance and despite the hardships, the poet strives to continue and not give up because life will become easier. It is very relatable because most individuals have felt moments where they wish to give up. I think you perfectly describe the push for a brighter future. Thank you for sharing this poem.

I love this poem! I really feel the raw emotion and passion behind this poem. It is telling the reader that no matter what is happening in your life right now, it gets better and that we come out stronger on the other side. I also connect very deeply with this poem because I have some days where it doesn’t seem like there is an end in sight. I try my best to keep going and pushing through.

I really love this poem. Getting it done, just trying to make it out and get through the day and your time is all everyone should try and be thinking during their time in jail. Knowing things will get better is always a good thought to have, it makes you have a mind set that is positive and it will help you get through the day. Great poem!

    Hi TA-

I love this! Super uplifting and encouraging. I think for all of us, life can get really overwhelming and it feels like no matter how hard we are pushing toward a goal, it gets further and further away. I commend your drive to keep pushing forward toward your goals! That’s the energy and mind set that we all need! I wish you the best.

This poem is so power. I feel like if other people read it even if they aren’t in jail they will still feel empowered to keep going and continue during whatever they are doing if they are struggling through it. By reading this I believe they will get the strength and determination to keep fighting and moving. Keep up the amazing writing and continue to empower others going through their own hardships.

I like the metaphor to a race. I also like the use of the word ‘chedda’. Slang is cool

This poem gave me a sense of determination to keep on going no matter what happens. It is difficult to not give up because that is the easiest thing to do. But if there is no struggle then what are you living for?
