Comfort

By CD

A wounded soul,
A broken heart,
A battle for mental repairment.

I compare your tone with the look in your eyes,
To your embrace which states explicitly in utter silence.
You do not have to speak for fatigue rules,
The contour of your body’s aura, for you had personified importantly in principle.

It’s still there beneath your skin?
Strength and truth!
Comfort and power!
Fire that burns your drive!
The elegance of your character,
Think of the air you breathe?

    Hi there,

I really like the message of your poem, as actions speak louder than words and despite what one goes through, resilience can help you retain your spirit. I like how you used punctuation and variations in sentence length to convey your message and emphasize certain parts of your poem. Nice work!

Overall, this poem gave me hope. Even though the past 7 months have been full of brokenness due to my grandmother’s death, deep down inside I still have a fuel that drives me to unlock my full potential. To be the best person I can be. Thank you for this.

CD, I admire your ability to describe in vivid detail. I love the lines, “I compare your tone with the look in your eyes,/To your embrace which states explicitly in utter silence./ You do not have to speak for fatigue rules.” Reading others’ tone and body language to understand what their really saying is an important skill. I sometimes find myself reading others to understand the true meaning carried by their words. Thank you for your insight.

This heartfelt poem beautifully captures the emotional turmoil and inner strength of a person facing deep struggles. The imagery and emotions expressed in the poem resonate powerfully.
The opening lines, “A wounded soul, A broken heart, A battle for mental repairment,” immediately evoke a sense of pain and the ongoing struggle to heal from emotional wounds. This sets the tone for the rest of the poem, establishing the deep emotional journey being described.
The contrast drawn between the tone of the person’s voice and the look in their eyes, and the explicit statement made by their embrace, provides a vivid portrayal of the profound emotions being experienced. This contrast underscores the depth of the person’s feelings and the complexity of their inner world. Keep up the great work!

This poem is beautiful. It envokes feelings in the reader of hopefulness and optimism, something that is lacking in our society today. I like the use of capitalization at the end, as if to fully conclude and emphasize the new beginnings that diverge from experiences. Thank you for your words.
