See and Be Seen

By MR

My creativity revealed the
Viewpoint for integrity & identity
In the world where Black artists
Can struggle with partial justice
And support my strange response
Could help power our community
With social love
But a struggle to deal with spiritual formation in America
Are traditional standards
Embracing leadership features unique strength
On him who apply reflection then sureness
Across the land
I’m beautiful
Respected in visual art for a lot of soul
Corporate characteristics
Successful me

I loved reading your poem and what you had to say about the Black community and how they’re treated in America, extremely powerful. Your perspective on this was really great and how you stood your ground and defined yourself of being more. Beautiful and successful. This was a great poem and really made me think. Great job!

Great poem, MR! Keep it up. I like how you put your art in context. I think it reveals a lot about America. At least to me, your poems says a lot about what art can be and do for us, like brining hope or inspiring change.

This poem is very relatable because I feel that sometimes my best work isn’t seen and I start to feel bad about myself. I get overlooked often and I always have to try a lot harder than my peers do well. What comes easy for some will be challenging for others. You got this and remember the best is yet to come!

This is such a strong writing piece that has a great flow to it. I love the descriptive words that you use to describe justice. I also really like how you mentioned social love. If everyone in the world had a love for each other, and not hate, this world would be a much better place. Great poem, and keep up the good work!

Hi MR I really like your poem, I hope you keep writing! This is such a hot topic that we face are facing her in America especially when it comes to the youth of today. Not even with today youth its important that we make sure we are listening to one another and not hurting each other.

I found your poem really powerful. I enjoy the short lines and how each word holds so much strength. Not sure how much of this was intentional but I saw the parallels with words like land and beautiful so close together as if a reference to the national anthem which of course has a tense relationship to Black Americans. I also love the line of corporate characteristics and the institutional injustices. The layers of this poem speak incredible lengths.

    Hi MR!
I believe this poem is really powerful. I believe this because the way you discussed the bases of your poem, I know you wanted it to be powerful and get the messages across with power and ease. I completely respect the feeling you have about yourself and journey. Not all people can feel this way about themselves and their future but you can so that is incredibly impressive. I wish you the most luck with your journey and I hope it treats you well!

Your transitions MR, they were extraordinary! So many beautiful uses of personification here, this was executed a little too smoove! The title did a more than enough job drawing me in, “see or be seen.” that’s a powerful statement right there.

I really love this poem and the way that you play with your words here. I find the message to be powerful and resonating. Please keep up the great work as you have a wonderful voice that should be heard far and wide.

Your creativity revealed the perspective for integrity and identity. It’s interesting that you say but a struggle to deal with spiritual formation in America are traditional standards. Respected in visual art for a lot of souls backs up your “See and Be Seen” poem title. Great job MR!

To MR- Not only is this poem a piece of creativity but that’s what the poem is all about. You’re able to fit multiple topics like racial injustice, art, change, community, and more in a little poem. Creativity can really be an escape for people struggling with anything. It seems like these poems and the creativity that you put into them is a part of your escape from the struggles you face. The injustice in this country is talked about through the creativity of those doing music, literature, and more but is anything being done to comate these issues? I really liked the part where you say we “Could help power our community, with social love.” Community is such an important aspect when it comes to social injustice, broadening the communities’ ideas could help change the issues our country faces. Such a powerful poem in only a couple of lines, thank you for sharing!
