New Life
By RF
I’m a changed man, with this New Life
AIM for success
I finally got it right
All the drugs and stuff
Those are old habits
Negative people, you can have it
Healthy living, that’s all me
I’m shining bright like a diamond
Can’t you see?
I feel like a newborn baby
It feels lovely to breathe New Life
My REENTRY into the outside world won’t be much of a fight
Living Life
I’m just living life
Come join me in this New Life
My changed ways was for the better
AIMING for success
I won’t rest until I reach it
I know my new way of living
Will make my loved ones proud
It’s my new certificate of completion
My New Life
I’ll just sit back
And SMILE.

Nice work! I can tell you are a changed soul and God will use your story and life experiences to change others. People relate to other people’s stories and life experiences more than anything. Share all you have learned! That’s your mission.
I am really moved by the positivity of your poem! You really seem to have grabbed in to life and are eager to make a difference…good for you! Sometimes I have trouble facing the day with such hope, but your poem reminds me of the newness and possibility that lies ahead. Thanks for sharing!
I read you poem from Mauritius. I like it Thanks a lot.
Hey RF, awesome poem! I’m really struck at just how positive and energetic the tone is. Especially the last line “I’ll just sit back and SMILE”. What a great attitude. It seems crazy how most people, including myself often times, have such a pessimistic attitude towards life while those in much tougher situations can be so optimistic. Thanks for sharing and I hope that new outlook on life takes you far.
Hello RF, life is all about second chances and approaching this new opportunity with new perspectives that you can do it. I can really tell that you were ready to change for the better and approach this new start with passion and vigor.
This poem is relieving and emotional to read. A fresh start is all someone needs for a new life aka a second chance. Old habits are past habits and you cant change the past so focus on your success for the future. Negative people will always talk bad about you but don’t let that unhealthy lifestyle stop you. Striving for a better future takes hard work, if it was easy everyone would do it. You got this and remember the best is yet to come!
Hi RF,
Thanks for sharing! This is huge!! Sobriety is super, super hard and can be really hard to talk about, but you did it in such a positive and encouraging manner. I like the format you used here, it read smoothly and in a good rhythm! I also like the end how you refer to this stage of your life as a certificate of completion when it is often referred to as an ending. Though it means similar things, it is a much more positive spin on it/ You didn’t end who you were, you just grew through it. Still you, just with different coping mechanisms and strategies. I wish you all the best!
