DA, I really enjoyed your poem. There is something very intriguing in how the poem is titled “Me and My Pen” and discusses the unbreakable bond with the pen yet is a short poem of only 4 lines. This indicates to me that the relationship between the pen and narrator is not obsessive but seems like a somewhat newfound love that has much to be explored still and is a poem that is enjoying the beginning of this passion and is getting to know the pen better.

  2. Brittani Forman on April 5, 2022 at 2:08 PM

I like the simplicity of the vocab. It is short yet powerful. Keep doing good work

  3. KC on April 7, 2022 at 12:56 PM

I love the emotion in your words! I can feel the care you have for your reader. Hold onto that love!

  4. Andrew F on April 7, 2022 at 8:23 PM

DA In Hamlet, Shakespeare said ‘brevity is the sol of wit.’ I think your poem backs that up.

  5. JAB on April 8, 2022 at 2:38 PM

This poem is short and sweet but expresses so much. I like how you are alluding to the bond between you and your pen which allows you to create your art through your words. I think writing can be an outlet for so many people making this poem relatable as well. Thank you for sharing

  6. Zach on April 13, 2022 at 6:39 PM

I love how within four lines you were able to create a powerful poem and use really strong words to express your emotions. I love the first line, “The bond we share is unbreakable”. That line is so strong and with resonate with a lot of people as they think about bonds they have that are so strong, they are unbreakable! This was an amazing poem, thanks for sharing!

  7. Colby on April 15, 2022 at 2:59 PM

Great work and really inspiring. Have you thought about expanding the poem even further? possibly discussing the bond you have with your pen and your writing?

  8. K on April 17, 2022 at 1:10 AM

Beautiful!!! Was it an artistic decision to leave no punctuation?

  9. Simone Redensky on April 18, 2022 at 1:32 PM

I love the idea that your pen energizes you! The thought that writing can bring energy and spirit to one’s life is something I have never considered but is very true. The use of repetition was beneficial and made the poem flow, such as continuously starting with The and switching out the effect of the pen. The use of language such as bond, love, feeling, and energy really conveys the relationship you have with writing to the reader. It demonstrates that writing is beneficial to you and makes you feel happy without you actually having to say it directly. I really enjoyed reading this, great work!

Hi, DA. This is a powerful poem and I am curious who you write these words for. Missing people dearly is hard and writing words is helpful, and even for people who don’t know who you write to—like me—these words resonate and are so powerful.

  11. Emma Moody on April 19, 2022 at 10:04 AM

This poem really stuck out to me because of its title. The poem title is so direct, that you want to think that this is about the writer’s pen, but when you read it you begin to wonder if it could be about something else. I wonder if this is about a person, a pen pal maybe? Then I wonder, is it because the writer loves poetry and writing poems so much, that it is actually about their pen? I love poems that make you think. Great job and keep it up!

  12. Belle on April 19, 2022 at 8:48 PM

    Dear DA,
I enjoyed reading your poem and think you did a great job of saying so much through just 30 words. I never thought I was gifted with the ability to write but know people who are. By reading your poem I believe you are a good writer. You have a way of encouraging a reader to think with only a few words. I hope you continue to write, and I hope you thoroughly enjoy doing it. Thank you for sharing your poem.

This poem really spoke to me. Touched my soul. I can feel the passion behind each space. Brings a warm feeling to my heart.

  15. JB on April 20, 2022 at 1:36 PM

I like how short but sweet this poem is. The way that you describe your relationship with your pen is very interesting. It needs so physically but it sounds like you also need it emotionally to get out your thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing!

  16. Taylor M. on April 20, 2022 at 9:57 PM

Hey DA! Thank you so much for sharing your words. I thought your poem was great. It’s always been so interesting to me how people are creative enough to write poems. It’s not an easy thing to do! I thought the message behind your poem was beautiful. The world has become a bit materialistic and I thought it was so beautiful to see a poem about something so simple. Sometimes the simplest things can mean the most, which is what really matters in my opinion. I hope you keep writing and sharing your work in the future! Thanks again!

  17. Emily Barrera on April 21, 2022 at 1:31 AM

I think sometimes we think of poetry as such an abstract complex way of telling a story when it can be something so simplistic and blunt such as this.. This is so honest and beautiful. If you want more of a poem structure, maybe consider rhyming!!!! Love how The is the beginning of each line.

  18. Erin and Reid on April 21, 2022 at 1:02 PM

I enjoyed reading your poem and think your relationship with your pen gives you a lot of purpose and freedom.

your poem is amazing and i loved reading it.

  19. Taylor H. on April 21, 2022 at 2:58 PM

I enjoyed reading your poem. It is simple yet still provokes thought and feelings. I love the last line- “The energy you give me is good.” I think that this line can relate to many different people/objects- a romantic relationship, a friendship, or even your pen. Thanks for sharing.

  20. Nasim S. on April 23, 2022 at 3:56 PM

One reason why I really like this poem is that while you, as the author, may have specific memories associated with it, anyone who reads it will have a different understanding. For me, it brings certain memories of someone I hold dear. It’s so simple, yet can evoke so many different feelings and memories. Each reader’s interpretation of “feeling,” “energy,” and “good,” for example, can be so different and so unique.

  21. Camryn on April 24, 2022 at 3:14 PM

DA, sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is express the way that we feel. The words don’t always come out right when we speak but everything makes sense when your thoughts are able to be properly articulated between you and your pen. Hold onto that energy, DA.

  22. Madison on April 24, 2022 at 9:04 PM

I love the meaning behind this poem. Writing is such a healthy form of release and I’m very happy you have found such an empowering means of expression. My only suggestion is that in the last line I would try to find a synonym for “good.” You could convey a lot more meaning and power with another word choice. I think the rest of this poem is great and I hope you continue to feel this bond with writing.

  23. Alex on April 25, 2022 at 6:39 PM

I feel from this poem that you are truly happiest when you are writing. Writing can open so many doors. It allows us to be able to say things that we cant quite get out in the spoken word. It Allows us to be able to scream our emotions, our hopes, our dreams, into the paper or into the screen as we type making a canvas that we paint with our writing. This is a very freeing and liberating thing to do and is one of the best way to vent about how we feel in a safe environment. Keep writing, keep pushing forward, all will be well.

  24. Philip on April 25, 2022 at 9:05 PM

This is a very simple and moving poem. It is uncomplicated, and does not need to be more than a simple expression of love for something that gives someone so much emotional release. It is one of the most sublime and pleasing things I have read because it is so simple. And it is when we re-orient and we recognize these simple things in life that we become the most grounded and content.

  25. Zach on April 26, 2022 at 10:20 AM

I enjoyed the consistency of starting each line with “THE”

You had great word choice with the use of “unbreakable”

You appealed to my emotions with your description

  26. Brittani on April 28, 2022 at 2:19 PM

    Dear DA
Love this poem. Nice flow and beautiful structure. I truly enjoyed reading this and related to it very much. Please keep working at it. To love someone like this is soo beautiful! I truly think this is the greatest feeling in the world

  27. Chynel on April 29, 2022 at 12:16 PM

I love the rhythm of these four lines. The way that each line starts very similarly but expresses a different idea is very powerful. I hope you never stop writing.

  28. MarylandElaine on May 1, 2022 at 7:34 AM

This poem does a great job of conveying the closeness and strong feelings one person has for another. Would you consider writing more verses on this very important human feeling?

  29. Kenzie on May 4, 2022 at 2:13 PM

I feel a great connection to this poem. I really love drawing and I always feel the need to have a pen or pencil on me so I can draw at any time and anywhere. I love the line, “the energy you give me is good.” because I feel a happy and powerful energy in me whenever I am drawing or being creative in any way. Thank you for sharing your poem with me, I really like it!

  30. Aaron on May 9, 2022 at 8:59 AM

I think even though it’s a pen it’s good to have an attachment to something during a hard time in our lives. To have a positive feeling towards something or someone is good, it’s a standing connection to the outside world or something that helps you hold out hope for the life you’ll have once your once again a free person

  31. Pearce on May 9, 2022 at 9:51 AM

I know how you feel. I like writing, and I feel that my pen is my best friend sometimes.

  32. Owen Engel on May 9, 2022 at 9:54 AM

I like this poem. It’s short but sweet, and as someone who likes to write themself, I can relate to the central idea.

  33. Adam on May 9, 2022 at 9:58 AM

I agree with this poem. The bond with something so simple as a writing utensil can be very strong and it can feel like a friend because it really helps get through tough times.
Just a pen that helps you write, a non living object is so powerful because the words you can put on paper can be life-changing. This poem is so simple yet powerful.

  34. KC on July 28, 2022 at 3:21 PM

    DA,

I love that you find so much positivity in writing! Your pen is a tool, and we hear you. Keep writing!

  35. Annika on September 22, 2022 at 11:33 AM

4 lines of how much you love your pen which I’m assuming alludes to how much you love writing. I love how you describe your pen as if you’re in a relationship with it – really shows how much you cherish you.

  36. Jaxson Pawlowski on September 22, 2022 at 7:27 PM

This is so short and powerful, but also what makes writing so stress-relieving I have found while studying stress and dealing with it personally. Writing allows you to speak your mind and express emotions.

People, including myself, used to think that writing was over-rated until I realized how much it helps me cope with stress and repressed emotion.

Thank you for inspiring who knows how many people to pick up a pen and write whatever! I hope it can help you during those stressful times, best of luck! JP

  37. kayla on September 25, 2022 at 10:23 PM

This poem was very well written. As someone who also loves to write, I understand the love you have for your pen! It’s such an important tool. I really like how you started each line with “the”, it makes the poem really cohesive.

  38. Oshane on October 2, 2022 at 11:20 PM

Writing is a great way to express yourself and your ideas and concepts out of your mind. Many great inventions we have today started with an idea that was written down and then executed. Keep writing the pen is a powerful tool if used correctly.

  39. Meghan on October 14, 2022 at 8:42 PM

Something about reading a writer’s work about loving to write is so powerful. The poem was awesome, and I definitely got the feeling that writing is your passion. I can tell from this poem that your bond with your pen is very strong and that your passion is writing. Keep up the great work!

  40. Liz on October 16, 2022 at 4:53 PM

    HI DA,

I loved your poem because it shows how much you enjoy your bond with writing in general! Please keep on writing!

  41. Emily on October 16, 2022 at 9:59 PM

Very simple yet efficient poem. The feeling you describe about your pen is the same way I feel when I read. Good job.

  42. Nora on October 16, 2022 at 10:06 PM

The connection to your pen is inspiring. You have such a deep connection because you enjoy the power the pen gives you. Your writing skills are presented by the how you can create a story with such few stanzas.

  43. aaliyah on October 16, 2022 at 11:35 PM

Hello DA, I wanted to inform you on how beautiful your poem is. In middle school is when I realized the relationship, I had with writing was one of my favorite things about my life. Writing was so much fun, I felt like I could never get tired of it. Even when I had nothing to write about, I would write about having nothing to write about. And surely enough after that those ideas started to flow. i love how you used the word energy as well. Writing does give you this rush, especially when it’s so good you give yourself goosebumps. I have such a big imagination, and love to explore different themes changing things each time. It really is a lot of fun. Thank you so much for sharing your love with writing, and how powerful it is for you. This was a great poem.
I wish you the best- Aaliyah!

I like how short and sweet this was! The simplicity of it gave the poem more meaning. It made me think about how writing helps people express their emotions. Keep up the good work!

  45. Julia Santosuosso on October 23, 2022 at 11:35 PM

I relate to this poem a lot. I myself am a poet and keep a journal, so me and my pen share a very special relationship as well. There is nothing like knowing that you will always have a safe way in which to express yourself and your thoughts through what is viewed as the simple use of a pen. My pen is able to accurately put on paper some of my most complex thoughts and emotions even when my brain is not fully capable of comprehending them, and for that I am so incredibly grateful. Thank you so much for sharing your work.

  46. Anna on October 30, 2022 at 6:27 PM

Hey DA, I really enjoyed this poem! Short, simple, yet powerful poems are my favorite! There is just something so wonderful about them. I believe you are saying you love to write and I am so glad that you have something you love so much. Thank you for sharing!

  47. Alexis on November 6, 2022 at 7:19 PM

    DA,
Although your poem is just 4 simple lines, the way it came across so perfectly to me shows me that you and your pen are in fact passionate about writing. I understand how you connect to your pen so well as someone who also likes to write. Writing gives us the freedom to release anything we feel or wish to talk about on paper. It is truly a beautiful experience. I enjoyed reading this and how you interpreted your pen to have an emotional bond with you, it is a very creative and touching approach.

  48. Conor Thompson on November 13, 2022 at 6:02 PM

Hi DA, I hope you are having a very good night and all is well. Your poem while it might be short, It touched very me very deeply. There is a lot of symbolism that you can use here in this poem a lone, but I love how you mainly focused on the pen especially in the title. You want to make sure this pen is close to you, and you don’t want it broken. I hope you are able to keep writing and that you will be writing with this pen.

  49. Mackenzie Curry on November 20, 2022 at 1:57 PM

    Hi DA,
This is really great! I think it is amazing how you used your pen to write this poem of how much your pen really means to you. This is a crazy parallel that is truly inspiring. I am not a writer, so I don’t understand this bond you have with your pen, but I have bonds with living things. I wonder if you have a specific pen that is ‘your pen.’ I hope you are able to continue to write as long as you want too. Good luck!

  50. Safwan on November 21, 2022 at 8:54 PM

even though the poem is short, the emotions still come across so strongly. Struggling with writing or creating in general all the while sill loving it such a relatable emotion and you’re definitely not alone in that struggle.

  53. Andrew on November 27, 2022 at 9:10 PM

Very simple but very powerful! I like how your relationship with a pen can reveal so much. A pen can be a pathway to expressing so much of your internal nature, and I love how you express that in this poem.

  54. Abigail on December 7, 2022 at 2:10 PM

This poem is short and sweet be delivers emotions about writing as a loved on. It shows the importance of the pen and how poetry can show powerful messages. The bond you have described shows a lot of love for poety. I enjoyed this poem as it shows how important wring is for you and makes me eager to read more of your poems. It is important to write poems you love and this poem shows a huge passion.

  55. eleni on February 5, 2023 at 4:01 PM

This poem is something I relate to. I think writing is such a powerful thing. When I am stressed, I love to sit down and journal about what is stressing me out. When I am unsure of what to do, I sit and journal about my options and my feelings. When I am angry, I journal about my frustrations. Journaling for me is the time where I can be my most authentic and honest self. This is the time where I sit down and really reflect on myself and my emotions. I have gotten through some of my toughest times of my life by journaling, so I can understand this poem deeply. The relationship with someone and the tool which allows them to express the most authentic part of themselves is something that is hard to put into words, but this poem does a good job of doing that!

  56. John on February 7, 2023 at 11:47 AM

I really like how connected to you are to something as so simple as a pen. To you it is much more than just a pen. This pen gives you an escape from all the bad stuff that you have going on. I love the simplicity of the vocabulary, and the powerful message you bring. Keep up the good work and I know you’ll do amazing!

  57. Colleen on February 20, 2023 at 4:59 PM

I wonder if this has a deeper meaning than your pen, or if this is talking about how much you love writing. Either way, I really like this piece. It is short, but it has a nice meaning to it. I have a feeling it is about how you like writing, which is great. Writing is such a nice hobby. I have tried to get into it, and I do really like it, but I always forget about it, or I get too tired in the middle of it.

  58. Dulce on February 27, 2023 at 12:02 AM

Hello DA! I love how you were able to express an inspiring message with just four stanzas. It demonstrates how a pen can help ease one’s mind. I am glad to hear that writing makes you happy. I hope you keep writing and sharing your work in the future!

  59. Karena on February 27, 2023 at 7:17 PM

In four sentences, you convey a picture in my mind of you writing on a piece of paper and doing it over and over again. These four sentences filled me with a sense of comfort and understanding that I rarely feel. I relate to how the pen makes you feel and the energy you receive from the pen. The love for the pen that shows you immense comfort and love without the chance of leaving is beautiful and something I also feel.
Thank you for these beautiful words. Please keep writing poems.

  60. John on March 1, 2023 at 9:43 PM

The freedom that your pen gives you seems unmeasurable. Even though it isn’t a person the relationship between you and your pen is unbreakable. Beautiful piece. Keep writing and making magic happen.

  61. Matthew Handley on March 5, 2023 at 10:40 PM

I love how short and sweet this poem is. It gets right to the point and delivers your love for writing. I think that humanity’s greatest gift to itself was language and writing. Being able to convey our pasts and experiences to others through simple symbols is amazing when you think about it. I really love your poem and your message, and I hope to read more of your work in the future.

Hello! I think your poem shows just how powerful words are. A pen itself does not contain much power, but the user and the words created can cause so much change in the world. Your words and symbolism portray how expressive and impactful writing can be and I hope you use this strength to your greatest advantage. I love your piece and I hope you continue to write more.

  64. Caroline on March 30, 2023 at 10:05 PM

This poem is definitely a deeper meaning then just a pen, unless it’s a very special pen, but I believe it’s about a person and I love the metaphor that you used

  65. Safwan on April 16, 2023 at 4:07 PM

I really vibe with what you’re saying here. Recently I’ve found journaling and writing down how Im feeling to be so productive to my day to day life. Getting in touch with emotions and writing them out to processes them has made me more in touch with my emotions with people and relationships as well.

  66. jordyn on April 16, 2023 at 6:30 PM

You write with so much emotion and passion. it’s so great when you find an outlet for your creativity, it creates an escape for you and you really showed that through these words. Writing especially is such a great way to express your emotions. Each line expresses a specific sentiment, and the briefness of the poem adds to its impact. this poem expresses such a passionate and determined tone.
