Changes
By CW
There comes a time in our lives
When we reach the point of adulthood
Where we get rid of our childish mentality
And grow up
And we’re put into rough situations
That we’re mature enough to think our way out of
Where we learn how to conquer those situations
And not depend on someone else to always be there
To pick us up when we fall
There are a lot of obstacles we face
That determine our maturity
And when we overcome them
We know that we’ve changed

Japanese proverb: Fall seven times, stand up eight. I recently read Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. Your poem made me think of think of it again. It carries a powerful message about maturity and learning who you are and your place in this world. The lines I liked best are “That we’re mature enough to think are way out of,” and “And not depend on someone else to always be there/To pick us up when we fall.” Your meaning is clear and important, and wise. Change comes with time and perseverance. Don’t give up, and keep writing. Thank you.
CW, your poem is great, I like how you have realized that you have to grow as an individual and mature so that you can achieve great heights. Continue to grow and become wise.
A motivating discussion is worth comment.
I do think that you need to publish more on this subject,
it might not be a taboo subject but generally people don’t discuss these issues. To the next! Many thanks!!
There must be many experiences that led you to post this uplifting poem. How would you think when you achieved status at a pinnacle, then you suffered under the smallest folly?
