The multitude of thoughts
Where will the action lead me?
So many dreams
Will I ever make them a reality?
So many emotions
Will I ultimately be denied
The true desires of my heart?
So much pain
Do the scars last forever?
So many tears
Will they ever stop flowing?
So many hurts
Is there a cure?
So many minutes
So many hours
So many years spent in this 8×10 hell
So many memories
Some I wish to forget
Some I wish to replay
In my mind forever
All which include you

This is stunning. It has such a great rhythm and asks the kind of questions that echo through everyone’s mind at one time or another. You know that poem by Langston Hughes, Hold On to Dreams? I think by writing this poem, you are managing to do that. Even if it feels like small, tiny grasps – but that’s all it takes. And writing – writing, I think, makes your grasp of dreams stronger. So keep writing!
