I Am

Collaborative Poem By MS and MK

I am a human being
I was judged but never got to be heard
I hope for better days
I fear losing this every day fight I’m in in with the hard knock life
I love to hear the bird chirp smell of grass and the sight of the free world
I dream of making a change that could benefit me and everyone who’s to come after
I wish to move on with my life
I laugh to keep from crying
I cry to keep from dying inside

This is POWERFUL. “I was judged but never got to be heard.” “I laugh to keep from crying.” “I cry to keep from dying inside.” Incredibly powerful writing. This poem really spoke to me – it made me feel a deeper emotion, something I can’t quite describe… And for some reason I’m on the verge of tears. Keep writing, it has the power to change.

    MS and MK,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and emotions with me. I find it very inspiring that after all you have been through; you both find common ground in trying to move forward with your lives. Through all your adversity, you shall prevail. I wish you both nothing but the best in your future.

    MS & MK,

Rejection is never the answer. Let those who judge to keep on judging. Let the pain sink deep into your heart and embrace it. Life started without pain. Later in life, pain is the inevitable. Let it sink in. let it drown and rise again. What should we do? Observe it and smile at it and be content to know how happiness feels.
