Hope

By FM sister AN

I hope I grow up one day
I hope I live to see 90+
I hope the anger in me goes away
I hope I don’t just give up

I hope I’ll have a family soon
I hope someone claims me as their own
I hope I’ll still see the sun and moon
Each day is a blessing and I won’t give up

I hope I can right my wrongs
I hope I can start over new
I want to be a better person
And not a simple fool

I hope prison changes me for the better
I don’t want to be institutionalized
I hope this keeps me from stealing
And telling stupid lies

Now I’m free!
I can finally make things right
No more hoping
It’s time to live my life

I think Hope is one of the most important things to hold on to when things aren’t going as planned. I think your poem really highlights that the the things in which make this life great. I hope you are well and that you are truly living your life as you imagined.

I love the theme of hope and optimism in this poem. Great writing!
