My Love
By IS
The reason I laugh
The reason I cry
The reason I live
My will to survive
The reason I lie
The reason I trust
The reason I crave
This feeling of lust
For better or for worst
For sick or for Poor
A sensational feeling
I cannot ignore
To honor and to cherish
Until death do us part
The reason I see light
When I lay in the dark
My strength and my weakness
My heart and my soul
My pride and joy
My love

I LOVED THIS POEM. it made my day! Keep writing and sharing your incredible gift with the world.
loved it
Dear IS,
What a great poem. Your poem introduced a new aspect of motivation to me, love. While I would never think to make some decision based solely on love, I think a lot of my — and others — decisions may be implicitly impacted by love of some sort or another. Keep writing.
Sincerely,
CJ
IS,
I have come across this poem as part of a college course aimed at community engagement.
This is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read, truly. This feels like a poem someone would read to their person before their wedding. The stanzas are a piece of art, alone and together. There is a beautiful rhythm to the stanzas and it just flows together so nicely that it creates almost a love song, but in spoken word.
This is a great piece of poetry and you are very talent! Thank you so much for sharing this with the world!
I love the repetition you use in this poem! What a wonderful job you did describing love. Great job and I hope you continue writing!
Hi there!
I loved reading this poem and it’s one of the more uplifting ones I’ve read. This mindset is so positive, and so hopeful, and it’s really inspiring to see that despite possible circumstances, that this positivity still flows from within. It was well-written, and well thought out. I found myself re-reading it because as someone who has always been interested in reading poems, and listening to slam-poetry, I felt like I could feel the belief grow stronger, and I was hanging on to every single word. It really displayed your strength, your willpower, and loyalty in my opinion. This poem brought to mind a quote that I absolutely love and that I will leave you with. It goes like this: “Sea Glass becomes beautiful once it has endured the thrashing of the tide.” I feel that your poem and this saying, both flourish with hope.
