Peace

By WM

Peace
Is something I feel in my heart
My heart beats peace
With each and every beat
Sometimes I cried myself to sleep
The pain wouldn’t go away
There was no peace, the pain wanted to stay
Days to nights
Nights to weeks
Unbalanced, but gifted
Standing strong on my feet
Trapped in a cruel world
With a righteous mind
And a heart full of peace
God please spread my “piece”
So the people can feel my “peace”
The world needs people like me
Inspire millions
Reach billions
God, we are all your beautiful children
Independent and headstrong
If you hear this poem
Then hold on
Peace is near
Suffering will always bring joy
I pray on these poems
To make noise
For you to hear them clearly
Merchandise for your heart
Memory for your mind
Marvelous masterpieces
History can’t find
Now this is my time
To make peace with every one
Who hurt me
To my mother who birthed me
My poems radiate
If you get too close
You will get exposed
To Wayne’s World
Full of peace and gold
I walk the glory road
I know in my heart
I was chosen
Something special within me
Peace all around me
God if you hear me
Send angels to surround me
From the evil ones
Who wanna take my peace
Make me suffer to self-defeat
Let me be the one
To cleanse the hearts of many
And spread peace
Just listen to my words
And you will see
Saturate these words on your mind
Sentimental is what you’ll find
I told Kelli I’ll write a poem about peace
The word hit home, pierced my heart and rescued me
Now recognize these poems
As your refuge
Regardless of how you feel
Stay true to yourself
And stay real
I’ll make you a deal
Believe in happiness
Search within yourself
To find confidence
Peace is what you will settle with
Peace
Is specifically pertaining to when I speak
Not the preacher
But I come to preach
My words attract metal to magnets
Pulling you closer
Exploding on your mind
Notice this poem is called peace
Now finish the other line
Peace is not hard to find

    WM,

When I read your poem, I felt privileged to have access to such powerful words. I enjoyed being a reader, as I always need a nudge towards being more peaceful, but also, I identified with you as the narrator which enhanced the poem for me. On another note, the verbs you chose brought the poem to life. I also appreciated that you didn’t limit your conversation about peace to the positive aspects of the subject. Your nuanced approach created a cathartic experience for me. It was an absolute gift to read. Thank you. Please keep writing.

    Your fan,

    Rachael

This was a very moving poem, your writing is incredible! I really liked that you did not only talk about the positive aspects of peace and stepped into the whole field.
