One Day

By RW

I told myself, one day
One day I will cross the trenches to the unknown

I wondered to myself, why?
Why must those whom you love deceive you the most?

I figured out where:
Where the hatred, pettiness, and emotions rest inside

I asked myself, when?
When will the path be cleared
For me to walk a straight line into prosperity and love?

Then I told myself, one day
One day I will cross the trenches to the unknown

Sometimes I think that to “cross the trenches to the unknown” is the most important thing there is — because so much of what people think is “known” is fake. But I think, my brother-writer, that those trenches are out there waiting for us not one day, but every day.

    Stay strong,.
