What If

By RW

What if you were in here instead of me
Now from my eyes to your eyes you see what I see
What if your visiting days I didn’t come to see you
And I told you that the love we shared wasn’t true
What if it was your phone calls that I didn’t accept
How would you feel if I told you I fell in love with somebody else
What if I didn’t send you in when I knew you were broke
Or I said that the times we shared was just a joke
What if the person you loved the most turned their back on you at a time when your spirits was broken
And they weren’t there to help you through those hard times
What if the person told you they played with your mind
And that everything was a lie, every word that was ever said
How would you feel if you heard one of the girls call me her “Boo”
What if it was me on the outside instead of you?

Feel my pain…

    Dear RW,
You have expressed yourself powerfully and made it impossible for your reader not to feel your hurt. I’m truly sorry you feel abandoned by the people you cared about. As a reader of your poem, I felt like your words did give me the ability to see through your eyes even if only briefly. The shocks that have been delivered to your system from the people that loved you is enough to leave anyone reeling but I also hear a lot of strength in your words and I hope you can harness it to pull through the time you have. Keep writing and keep emoting through paper…it will help!!

Wow, i”m speechless i cant imagine being locked up and have limited time and certain days to see my family. Or if they don’t come and see me i would feel depressed. Just keep your head up and have faith in God.
