…On A Mountain Top…

By MS

I found my love on a mountain top
Lounging beneath the sun
Resplendent, paradise like in her glory
like a (Rose) wildflower in tall grass
Beautiful…
Being the only thing caressed by
Northern Breezes
She beckons me… whispering love letters
to my soul
But my Lord stayed my movement causing me to take her in
A pleasure, my treasure… A Jewell of Create
Allowing me, Imploring me to take her in
Like
a prayer long asked for
Answered in her being created thusly,
A promise to my soul
Her created just for me
So these words of mine are my way
of being a counterpoint to her heart
like breath is intrinsically linked to our being
Ever thankful always for God gifting me
with seeing
I found my love lounging beneath the sun on a mountain top…

This poem is beautifully written! You can feel the love pouring through the words with the imagery. My favorite line that I can see perfectly is “Resplendent, paradise like in her glory
like a (Rose) wildflower in tall grass.” What I love about this poem is that it helps others picture there own love in this beautiful mountain top that you display. Not only that but I think it’s beautiful how you incorporate your religion within this poem. How God gifted you with her, how she was made for you. That she was someone you were praying for. Overall, I felt the love pouring through your words. Absolute beautiful work!

I really enjoyed this poem. Everything about it just sounded so professional. At first, you get the sense that the poem is about a girl, but the more you read the way the word “love” is used differently. I also thought it was clever how the first and last lines are very similar. It makes for a good end of the poem and doesn’t feel like there is anything missing. Reading an appreciation poem about love and god is always lovely, so I really liked this!

It’s incredible how you manage to evoke such a tender, peaceful feeling through this poem. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the breeze, and the passion the speaker has for his love. I especially like the reference back to the beginning line of the poem at the end, bringing everything full circle.

Hello. I thoroughly enjoyed your poem. I am from Colorado so mountains are something very sentimental to me. Your poem reminded me of home, and what it’s like to be free in the mountains. I loved the ending and how it ties back to the first line. Thank you so much for sharing.

    Hi MS,
This is a really beautiful poem you wrote here. The scenery you described in this poem was just breathtaking! I really enjoy the mountains and the woods. I go to school in New Hampshire so it’s really just mountains all around me. I think it is interesting how you discussed your love. I love how it can be interpreted in so many different ways. I hope you continue to write poems; they are really amazing. Thank you for sharing this!

I really like the way your words are flowing in your poem. I feel the feelings you talk about with love but I also feel as though you are referring to god and nature as well. I love being out in nature and this poem reminds me of hiking when you see the view of the top of the mountain it fuels your soul because people are meant to come from the earth.

This lovely poem shows that the characters really cherish everything of his/ her crush. His/her target of love is the entire world for him. Nothing could compare this deep and sincere love they shared with each other. It is indeed the peak of their life and I like the analogy of being on the top of mountain. This reflects that the happy couple could be at the peak of their life.

This is a beautiful poem! I appreciate the pure love that was put into this poem. This reminds me of the phase “love at first sight.” It is crazy how a person who you care about can be so meaningful and even life-changing, and you display that idea in your poem so meaningfully. Keep up the great writing!

This is such a beautiful piece, usually not the biggest fan of love poems as it is the sadness in some pieces that speak to me but this is amazing!! Keep writing!!

    Hi MS,

    Wonderful poem.

Finding love is a wonderful experience. The poem is brief but creative in its depiction of your love story. Your use of vivid imagery and descriptive words is excellent. “Resplendent, paradise-like in her glory,” for example.

It makes the poem more romantic and sentimental, emphasizing nature’s beauty and the divine gift of love.

Happy Valentines Day , keep writing.

MS, Great poem, I liked how you compared her to other things in this world to get that idea in peoples head of what you make of her, I like the flower comparison although I wouldn’t put “(rose)” in, if you want to say she’s like a rose I would put that sentence into different words and use the word rose so it goes along with the poem.

The imagery used in this poem is remarkable. I love the story you are able to portray in such a short poem. It almost felt like a short story in a way.

This poem is extremely well written, and the vocabulary used truly amplifies its quality. I really enjoy the title and how all throughout the poem you use connections between nature and love to paint a picture of how you feel. In turn, the connection you feel to the subject of the poem is abundantly clear, which is another thing that makes this such a beautiful poem. In my opinion, one of the best and most impactful aspects of this poem is how you began with “I found my love on a mountain top” and ended with “I found my love lounging beneath the sun of a mountain top…”. I think that this can be interpreted in many different ways, but I see it as a development of the beauty of the love you feel. Amazing job!
