No Life to Live
By DJ
I walk around feeling lifeless,
Feeling like I have no life to live
Talk out my neck and see out my ears
The road ahead is a blur
So I can’t find my way
I feel so busy without the time of day
I walk on fire and sleep in snow
I’m living fast but moving slow
My heart and mind is full of rainy days
And blocked paths
My life is like a hard problem in math
I wanna be first
But am way far in last
No life to live

Hi DJ,
Thank you for sharing! I can really feel the emotions behind this, the way you were in a dark place mentally and just looking for bits of light but it seemed so far away. (to that, I hope you were able to catch that light, and are now looking up at brighter days!) I really like the line, ” I’m living fast but moving slow” It speaks volumes to someone who may be struggling mentally because life doesn’t stop, right? It keeps moving no matter how hard you try to slow it down and it can get so overwhelming. II really do hope you have found some things that prove this poem wrong and show you that life is for sure worth being here for and pushing forward to.
