Born into a Small World
I was born into a small world
Trapped in a hood that had me
Lockdown
I was born into a small world
Because I was trying to
Find away in the big world
With my love my heart my
Everything.
I was born into a small world
Alone unspoken inside of a
Hood.
I was born into a small world
Trying to free my mind and
Change danger.
I was born into a small
World trying to be forgiven
For what I did I was
Born into a small world.

This is great…so much power busting out of that small world. I love the way you used Hood and Everything and Lockdown – that’s a poet. Thank you.
This is crazy powerful. I am wild about the line “change danger” – this is in my head now and I’ll never forget it. All I can say is – wow! Keep writing. The world needs more poems like this.
I love this! The title and line “I was born into a small world” is very powerful and evocative.
I agree with Lana, the title is very powerful. Excellent poem.
i feel the same way sometimes……nice poem
Thank you for your vulnerability! I hope that you find a bigger world and recognize your purpose in this world. You are more than your circumstances. Keep encouraging others to escape the constraints of their childhood!
