Drag My Name Through the Mud
By D.H.
I live in a life where I always make bad decisions
Breaking myself up into different sets or divisions
I try & put together a puzzle with pieces missing
Losing more & more pieces
Because of inaccurate precision
I think this might be what’s embedded in my destiny
& I know I can’t let this get the best of me
I think I can I Think I can said the engine that could
But I still can’t figure out why I should
Feelin’ peace in my heart
But pumping hate through my blood
Tired of people that keep dragging my name through the mud

This is soooooo beautifully written … it demonstrates the beauty and the GOOD within you. Don’t give up buddy. It’s very apparent in your writing that you have a lot offer this world!
Hi! My name is Noor, I’m a freshman at Wayne State. I found your poem very thought provoking and at first, I was trying to relate to it, but after I reread it multiple times, I felt like it was an extremely personal poem. It seems like you have trouble with the lifestyle you live, but it still is bothersome when other people critique you about it, which I completely understand. I think a big problem in our society is that people try to meddle in things that don’t concern them or give their unwanted opinions. I hope it gets better for you because I can tell you are a very strong and self aware person. Lovely poem and good luck to you with everything!
“Feelin’ peace in my heart – But pumping hate through my blood” I am going to think about that line for a while. If I could ask anything, it would be to write a new poem just about what that line means to you, because it’s a powerful coupling.
