Seasons of Life

By AC

Spring suddenly came,
I learned how to talk, I learned my own name.
I made some good friends, lost a few too.
I had not done much, I had so much to do.

Summer was there
I learned what love meant.
Sadly for me, I learned it through pain.
As summer time went, I made some mistakes.
I took my eyes off tomorrow, and
Then, to my shock and my sorrow,
The world that I knew disappeared, came to its end.

Now, summer is gone and autumn is here.
The numbers don’t add, but I know it is true.
I have lost so much time, it just slipped through my hands.
But I hope that this fall will be better.
I truly know that it can.

Winter’s ahead
There is not much I can do, the natural end of a cycle,
The end of a tour that is long overdue.

I know it’s a fact the sun will set in the west.
Yet something inside me still stirs with regrets.
The only fear that I have now, the only one that is left:
Is that I lived through a life that I did never accept.
–So I must live now to make this one life, my best–
