I color the moon in bright colors.
I use millions of delightful and colorful flowers to color the moon:
Deep maroon with purple tropical orchids;
Sunflowers with extended yellow streaks; roses with white petals and crimson blemishes.
I breathe in I breathe out,

The heart’s expression
Of the impressions
That life leaves upon us.
Forever I can write or shine light or
let my mind develop a plight
On how to ascend or pedal up the next flight or height
with my eyes locked tight on the goals of the flow,
I write from what I imbibe.
If I had the opportunity to design a mural mine would be a tribute to the mothers.
Mothers from all over the diaspora,
mothers from Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the U.S.
The mothers on the mural are teachers, because mothers are our first teachers.
