You’re Everything

You’re my sweet tea
You’re my caressing dream
You’re my light
A sunshine beam
Oh, you’re my candles in the dark
The special one that sings
The one who owns my very sweet heart
There’s no place I’d rather be
Than to have you here to me
You set my spirit free
You’re my joy, my everything
You’re the best thing that ever happened to me

    Dear DJ,

I am reading your poem on February 14: Valentines Day! This is a beautiful love poem, and I hope you have had or will have the chance to share it with your muse. My favorite line was the first one because I have never read about a love compared to sweet tea. It draws on the archetype of sweet tea: wholesome, refreshing, reminder of home, and sweeeeet.

Your poem sweetened my day. Please keep writing. I want to read more!

    Your fan,
