Too Much

By TO

I’m young and I done too much

I’m like ridin’ a dirt bike with a clutch

I’m stressin’ a little too much

I wanna touch down soon

And just sit on my front steps

And look at the moon

I’m too much to handle

I might as well sit down

And light a candle

The image at the end is really beautiful; after stressing out and being jostled all around, I love the picture of a man just sitting in peace in the dark with only a candle and the moon for light.

This poem is something I need to think about because I take things for granted and move on quickly. I’m always trying to do more, with friends, family, work, school, and basically everything else. I need to slow down and take a step back; I can always do more later. For example, I often work fifty-five-plus hours in the summer, leaving barely anytime for myself; but I also love my job and the people I work with. I took so many college classes in high school that I had a semester done already; this is why I need to slow down. I get stressed and don’t think I have time for everything, but I do if I plan out my schedule.r You got this and remember the best is yet to come!
