Poem: “?!Love?!”
?!Love?!
Love.
What’s love?
I mean what’s the true meaning of love?
People use this word “love” all the time.
But do they really know what it means?
Some people say just to say it.
I think it’s a good feeling you have for someone.
I have that type of feeling for my family.
It’s a good feeling.
I thought people had that feeling for me.
But they did nothing but disappoint me.
That’s the feeling I’ve been having lately
- “Disappointment”
I don’t really know if that’s a feeling

Disappointment is definitely a feeling and it is really terrible when we get let down by the people that we thought were on our side. Always keep your head up and thank you for sharing this amazing poem! -Pat
What a raw and authentic poem you have written!
I loved every part of this poem. You question people on how loosely they use the word “love,” and I wonder why it is used so loosely?
Another thing that is interesting and makes one reflect is that why do those we love tend to let us down most?
We all aren’t perfect, so is disappointment supposed to be a part of love?
Thank you for sharing this!
The dichotomy of love and disappointment is one of the most raw feelings. We open ourselves up and be vulnerable with the ones we love. We willingly give them the power to hurt us. I hope you look at your life and remember that there is more love than pain. Keep writing!

Hello,
I loved how you conveyed the complexity of “Love”; how it makes us feel, and how we can give it to others, but it not be reciprocated back to you. Love is wonderful, and I hope you continue to search for it’s meaning through your poetry.
Best,
Samantha
Hi Poet,
Thank you for taking the time to write this poem. I think it is interesting how love and disappointment go hand in hand with one another, although the relationship may be unclear to many. I think we generally have higher expectations for people we love, because we assume that they understand who we are fully, and therefore we assume that they are relatively on the same page as us. When it doesn’t turn out to be that way, we become disappointed. But we don’t feel the same way for strangers simply because we don’t know them and because we have no relationship or proof of similarities. Great poem!
Hello,
Wow, beautiful poem. The juxtaposition of “love” and “disappointment” was so real and raw. I appreciate you sharing your feelings and experiences. Keep writing!
Best,

This has a great rhythm of contemplation where we go through your thought process and how you are feeling. It gives a view into what you desire to know, something strong and powerful. It make me feel for you and I appreciate you sharing.
This is beautiful. I have always enjoyed wondering about love; how I view it, how others view it, my feelings toward it. It is so simple to love yet so complex simultaneously. I Have come to realize that I love the contradiction in love. The excitement, the fear, the pain, the joy, the exhaustion, the energy, all depending on the ways in which we are loved and love others. I truly admire your wondering about love. Thank you so much for sharing.
I really enjoyed this poem. I agree that most people may use the word “love” incorrectly, and although that definition is different for everyone, it can still lead to disappointment. I believe that disappointment is a feeling many people can relate to. Great job!
I love this poem as I resonate with the author’s perspective on love at a certain point in my life from my past. The author conveys true genuine confusion around the concept of love. I feel love is precious and complicated. There are things about love you can’t control and sometimes you think you love something but the other may not love you back to that extent. No matter what, never regret the love you give in life, as that was someone’s everything in that moment. Disappointment may come hand in hand with love, you can be disappointed yet still love something. Love for family is a different love than when you find and love someone else whose non blood. The tie may not be as loyal because they are not blood and sometimes, they disappoint us. As I have loved before and I have lost. Never stop loving, what you give into the world, comes back to you. Your poem brought out some emotions of mine, I enjoyed this poem. Keep writing and keep loving.
Hello! I appreciate you opening up with this poem. I agree that people use the word “love” too lightly. It is a word with deep meaning and sometimes it isn’t used as that. I’m sorry that you feel “disappointment” lately. I hope you can find joy and love in some aspect of your life. Thanks for sharing!
You brought up an interesting idea about the fact that people are using the word “love” so loosely without knowing its true meaning. Love is the greatest gift in any friendship or relationship, and when you say it, it definitely holds a huge impact on others. Thank you for writing this thoughtful poem!
“?!Love?!” is a concise and contemplative exploration of the concept of love and the emotional complexity that comes with it. The poem encourages readers to ponder the true meaning of love and how it can be both beautiful and disappointing. It’s a great work that prompts reflection on a universal human experience. Great job!
such a genuine poem to read
This poem explores the complexity and uncertainty surrounding the meaning of love, questioning whether people truly understand the depth of the word. It reflects on love’s connection to family and the conflicting emotions of warmth and disappointment. The poet’s candid reflection on disappointment adds an interesting layer, suggesting that love, though often idealized, can also bring confusion and heartache.
Your thoughts on love are really honest and real. You’ve explained how love is sometimes confusing and disappointing in a way.
