Reentry Programming & Education Specialist

Born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Jamilah earned her Bachelor’s in Human Ecology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Business Administration. She also gained a Leadership certification from the Princeton AlumniCorps Emerging Leaders Program. She worked for more than seven years in Workforce Development at DC Central Kitchen, where she held many titles, working specifically with the Culinary Job Training Program. There she assisted adults facing high barriers to employment for careers in the food services industry. She brings deep commitment and expertise in this field to her role as Reentry Coach, helping Free Minds Book Club & Writing Workshop members achieve their desired goals.
