Some Day I’m Gonna

By TG

Someday I’m gonna
learn new things.
How to play the piano
and how to sing.
Someday I’m gonna
write a book
or a love song
with a jazzy hook.
Someday I’m gonna
start to work out
watch my weight
and walk about.
Someday I’m gonna
make new friends
contact old ones
tie up loose ends.
Someday I’m gonna
spend more time
with my family
just me and mine.
Someday I’m gonna
stop saying
Someday I’m gonna
and just do it.

I love this poem! It shows your optimism, which we all need. I hope that you have a chance to do these things soon and find a way to do some of them right now and I hope you share your positive spirit with those around you- not everyone knows how to stay hopeful and you are an important person because of your optimism.

  2. Love this! The rhyme, the meter, the phrasing, it all works together so well! But then the end!! I wish you’d kept going with the rhythm you’d established or just maybe varied it slightly. Someday I’m gonna / spend more time / with my family / just me and mine. / Someday I’m gonna / –what? Work my way through it? need a line that works with “just do it” at the end. Or not. But I wish you’d kept it going because this is so brilliant up to that point. thank you! –Molly

Beautifully simplistic. I love it. The best kind of inspiration! Keep writing. You have something to say that is worth hearing.
