Untitled (Sometimes)
Sometimes I laugh
Sometimes I cry
Sometimes I’m mad
Sometimes I’m fine
I guess the mood swings
Is because of the time
They can lock my body
But can’t put chains on my mind

I loved this! The rhyming worked great but the the flow of the poem was also spot on.
I loved the message behind the poem the most, and the short and sweetness of the poem work so well with what the poem was trying to say. None of the lines felt forced, everything sounded right and was easy to understand while at the same time saying some very deep things. Bravo!
I love this poem. It is simple but effective. I appreciate your honest about your emotions and mood swings. Everyone has mood swings, free people, imprisoned people, white, black, rich, poor and everything in between. This allows the reader to relate to you regardless of where they are coming from. The last two lines were powerful in letting the reader know where you, as the poet, are coming from. Keep up the fantastic work.
That’s powerful. Your words really capture those emotions and resilience. Keep expressing yourself through your writing.
