Happiness
Happiness will take you so far
Happiness will have you sitting on a star
Happiness is a feeling that comes from the heart
It can be easy to depart
And hard to break apart
Happiness can make you do
A lot of things that you never would do
Like forget you’re in a bad mood
Or forget that a fork is really a spoon
And if you never find happiness
You won’t know how it feel
You will feel lonely
With a heart full of steel

This was really good. I always amazes me the way poetry can express the things that are so hard to put into ordinary words. This poem does so well at describing happiness and the way it can make one feel. I particularly liked the lines,
‘Like forget you’re in bad mood,
Or forget a fork is really a spoon’
Those lines really rang true while also sounding really well together and making one smile (which in a poem about happiness is a huge plus).
In the last four lines I really liked the idea behind them but think I might have perferred them if the rhyming pattern had not changed from what had come before, but that could very well just be personal preference.
The connection made though about unhappiness making one lonely was really good and powerful and really made me think. And it’s something I am going to strive to remember when next I feel alone and I think it will really make help and make a difference, which is not something a lot of poems can say.
Hi! You have written a well-thought-out poem that encompasses many poetic features. The power of poetry is that you can use simple feelings or thoughts but describe them in magical ways when put into a poetic form. You also do an excellent job ending sentences with rhyming words to add more flow. “Or forget that a fork is really a spoon” is a unique line that adds some thought to your poem.
Hello! This is a nice poem. I liked where you wrote
“Happiness can make you do
A lot of things that you never would do”
Because that is so true. When you are happy or feeling good, at least I find that I like trying new things and doing more stuff. And I suppose sometimes doing those new things could bring you happiness as well. Please keep writing! Would love to read more.
Happiness is really the only thing I really want in the future, it is such an amazing feeling that I doubt I even know much about! I enjoyed the writing style a lot! “It can be easy to depart” An intense switch-up that shows the less happy side of happiness.
Thank you for writing and I hope it brings you some happiness!

Hi!
I really liked this, you often only see the themes of happy or sad but rarely one where it highlights how they kind of go together. Without one there isn’t the other and they can swap back and forth so fast! I think it’s easy to forget one of the extremes when you are feeling the other, like when you are super happy it’s like you’ve never even felt sad. Yet when you are very sad, the idea that happiness exists is unfathomable. The lines ” Happiness can make you do, A lot of things that you never would do…” Is super true as well. When you are just over the moon with joy, you often say yes to things you wouldn’t otherwise or try new things because you can’t even imagine something taking away the happiness you are feeling. I really enjoy your writing! Thank you for sharing!
You did a great job with this poem, the rhyming between all your lines made the piece flow so well. I also liked the humorous touch about the fork and spoon.
This is such a lovely poem about happiness! You’ve really captured how it can lift you up and change your perspective. I love the playful part about the fork and spoon—such a fun twist! Keep sharing your creativity!
