Poem: “All Alone”
All Alone
All alone like no home,
No place to go,
Ain’t no people I know.
I should be home,
But not alone.
In a cell with no mail,
I just wanna drink fresh water,
Deep down from a well.

Thank you for sharing this with us! I can feel your longing for a safe place that makes you feel both physically and emotionally comforted. I hope that no matter your physical circumstances, you surround yourself with people that feel like home. Keep writing; we hear you!

In this poetry, I can sense your loneliness as you search for a nice location to be that will benefit both your mental and physical health, which are both crucial factors in your overall health.
Your poem seems so inspirational. I felt the emotions through your words. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem with me. I hope you reach your goal of getting home.
This is a perfect example of a minimalist poem, one that packs a powerful punch of emotions. Isolation, longing and sorrow reverberate from every word, but such abstractions are never named; instead, they are hinted at subtly, emanating from simplistic, concrete images and physical desires (thirst, being near other people, etc.) that evoke viscerally felt responses from the reader. I love the restraint you showed in this poem, only focusing on a few key ideas rather than writing a jumble of thoughts that becomes difficult to decipher. I absolutely LOVE the final line…so vivid and emotional yet uncomplicated, fueled by a basic human need that you have been deprived of. What a lovely and melancholy poem. Please write more!!!
