The Block I Come From

I come from a block where the wrong words get you popped
I come from a block where young boys eager to hold down the block with the forty-glock
I come from a block where your ma is on that rock
and where homies’ bodies drop like rain
Some people can’t feel my pain
Forced to be in the game
I come from a block where you feel like you won’t make it
But listen to this
Sit back
And let the Lord take it

talented but right about life or how you would want something to change in yours to give people a better understanding of why we chose the street life instead of the right way of it.

I like this poem because it gives a real representation of where you came from. My favorite line is “But listen to this, sit back and let the Lord take it.” I like this line a lot because it shows your positivity after coming from such a hard area to live in. I can tell that you know what the right things to do are and that you have learned from the wrong things. Keep up the good work, and keep on writing!
