Lies
People tell lies
I never know why
But I don’t care
Because I’m never gonna cry
I look in the sky
Lies go so high
But they can fall
And hurt
A lot

I love the imagery in this poem. I have felt those lies falling down on me. They do hurt.
The beautiful thing is, we have the choice, the free will, to determine whether we lie or not. When we lie, we cause that same pain in others. But we also have to choice not to lie.
It’s okay to cry. I know that sounds stupid, but it’s the first thing I thought. But it’s true, lies do, “go so high
But they can fall
And hurt
A lot”
I read somewhere today that the average person lies 4 times a day. A day! I know I do it too. But I can’t understand when people lie to hurt people, or cause damage. My mother used to put signs around the house that said “YES” and “TRUTH” and it changes your whole attitude when you decide to think and respond positively in the face of lies and liars. It’s hard, but it makes your whole body and mind feel better. Stronger. Hope can also go high, higher than lies.
