Save Me

Save me from myself, my thoughts.
Save me one last time
so I can climb to my highest goal.

So I can have freedom,
save me from the walls that’s closing on me,
save my life so I can breath fresh air,
grow old touch the green grass,
have my family have my life.

Save me from letting my mind go to waste,
save me from my haters,
touch my heart whole,
feel the beat of a young king,
touch my soul, grip it don’t let it go,
lift my soul, keep my hopes,
save my goals,
I want life but it’s almost time to go,
let me out my cage,
let me go the room is silent,
the room is cold,
the bed is hard,
wait where did my real life go,
save me save me is what I say,
but no one’s coming today,
save me save me,
will someone save the king

I was really touched emotionally by your poem. I felt scared and lost reading it, things I’m sure you felt as well. I especially love the last line, “will someone save the king.” My only suggestion is that a few lines could probably be cut, some of it does get a little repetitive. I also really loved the line, “where did my real life go” because it feels like you suddenly looked around and everything was different, wrong. Keep writing, I think you have a real talent for it.

Well done. I can feel the desperation in your voice while reading these lines. It seems almost stream of consciousness writing, where you just let the fear, pain, and terror flow from your pen. Do not, however, give into the hopelessness that your poem depicts. It might feel like “no one’s coming today,” but maybe you can be your own savior. Come to your own rescue and you will be a stronger man for it.

Wow, that’s a really intense and emotional piece. It sounds like you’re expressing a lot of deep feelings and struggles. Writing can be such a powerful way to process what you’re going through. Keep sharing your voice—it’s important.
