Fish Outta Water
I feel like I’m drowning on land
I‘m in a place I can’t understand.
I need to get back to my water
Where’s the sharks when you need em’
here the creatures get mad when you don’t feed em’
I’m suffocating from this air
I floated out of my sea because I lived
without a care
Mama fish told, Sista fish told me
Here Ima ugly fish, even though Ima goldie!
I have learned to walk, even though
swimming was the right thing to do
I’m slowly dying, my face is turning blue.
Dear Great Sea I’m coming back to you
Soon, very soon I hope to make it
because a fish on land – CAN’T TAKE IT
Gasping for air, and I’m not acting.
Because outta the water, me, the fish
was missing in action!

This an awesome poem. Creative concept and great flow to it. Keep up the good work and keep your head up. Life will get better, you just have to work at it. Peace
“Here Ima ugly fish, even though I’m goldie!” Great line, great poem. Lots of emotion
Wow, this is really great. I hope you keep writing because I think this poem shows you have a lot of talent.
You have a very real talent for this, I believe. My brother was imprisoned very young, and the things he has revealed of his life during said time were expectedly pretty grim. However, there were a few skills he picked up, and now that he is home, feels he is a better man for it. I don’t know the details of your situation, nor do I need to. Whatever you’re going through now, just remember, “This too shall pass.” Keep your chin up, and keep writing, as I said, you have quite a talent.
Wow. That poem is breathtaking. You have amazing talent. I was blown away by your first stanza. It’s something I could’ve read in a poetry book and I’ve read a lot of poetry books. If you keep it up I wouldn’t be surprised to find your writing published one day. Great poetry makes you feel like you need to share it with someone and I will be showing this to all my friends. They will be blown away at how great it is.
