Fish Out of Water

“What did they say?”
“What does it mean?”
“What was the name of that clothing line?”
Damn, it’s like a whole new world
When couldn’t you not trust the person you called your homeboy
That ain’t right
But hey, new places, new rules
I guess I’m a fish out of water
But I’ll adapt

A deep poem about how the world has changed and is always changing!

I enjoyed the fish out of water line because of the imagery and relevance to change! Thanks for writing and I hope things get better!

Your poem captures the confusion and disillusionment of navigating unfamiliar territory, both socially and emotionally. The shift from trust to uncertainty is stark, yet you convey a resilient attitude, ready to adapt to the changes. It’s a raw and relatable reflection on how relationships and environments evolve. Really loved analyzing and reading your poem!
