Poem: “Crazy”
I’m going crazy.
That’s what I do.
Is it a lie
or am I telling the truth?
I walk back and forth
and then sit,
and then I go to my room
I go crazy
that’s just the way
I am
crazy.
That how I am.

Thank you for taking the time to write this! I know solitude can make us feel as if we’re losing our minds. I challenge you to focus on the good around. Be someone that keeps the people around you from going crazy in their loneliness. Keep writing!

I am a student in a community service course at Wayne State in Detroit whose goal is to engage with the community beyond the university. When I discovered Free Minds I was immediately thrilled to see the connections build around your writings and heart, and what you have to offer is a powerful and beautiful gift to the community. It was a true privilege getting the opportunity to read what is on your heart and mind, your desires and passions, thoughts, and struggles. You have so much to say, so much wisdom to give, and such deep experiences and desires to share with the community that people from all walks of life, backgrounds, beliefs, and ages can deeply connect with and affiliate with. Keep engaging with the community and making your voice heard. You bring healing, hope, and renewal of mind to many who have the privilege to share in your poetry. I feel like your poem “Crazy” sums up the pandemic and the quarantining experience for many people. I know that this is a difficult time for people to be locked up in their homes however, that is nothing compared to what you must feel going crazy in there. I would encourage you as well to find something your passionate about, if writing then keep writing, and use that to give you a small amount of hope day by day. Use this talent you have to hep others as well, there is so much we can each do from all different areas in life.
I like this poem a lot because it shows a lot of your personality. I like how you embrace being crazy and that being crazy is a good thing. Everyone is crazy in their own ways and is losing their minds. Keep up the great work!
I understand how things like this can be hard. Telling someone your feelings or even writing them out like you did here is one of the best ways that I’ve found help when it comes to being bored, stressed, upset, or even not being able to do what you want to do. You’re writing is amazing and trust me it will help you through this.
Dear writer, times can be tough especially as it can be fleeting and run right passed us. What you’ve wrote about in this poem is how time is an illusion, moreover I think thoughts alone can make us all feel kind of crazy sometimes. All the best from me to you, I’m hoping you further your talent.
Stand on your “ I am” such a powerful short statement, talented young writer
