Behind The Pen
By DC
I’m hiding behind lines, with whatever will come to mind
I’m a master disguised penman…I’m someone different every time
And nine times out of a dime, my verbal presence will rhyme
Genres, subjects, and concept: I mastered them, every kind
I can be deep and tell you knowledge is the sea: you just let your mind be a port
Or comical: Just picture this…a grizzly bear in some shorts
Get political and tell you why that guy leaked the secret…naw
I’d rather let CNN be the speakers
You see it’s not what I fail to mention
You just gotta pay attention
What I intended might have missed you
When I spoke on an issue
You get it? I can be whatever I want to be
You only see my words; you don’t get to be familiar with me
It’s kind of like deception, but it’s just part of the biz!
You see how he just made you think he was more talented than he really is!

Thanks for sharing this. Your poem seems to show you have really transcended the language itslef and are able to transcend your situation. The poem has power and is really witty. You seem really self-aware. There is something I personally really enjoy about being able to keep some things to myself, revealing only what I want, when I want. This poem reminded me of that.
