I Wonder Why

By: MP

I wonder why at times I feel so bad
I wonder why at times things so small make me mad
I wonder why the judge gives people Life
I wonder why I always feel so right
I wonder why people hate for nothing
I wonder why they always put me with something
I wonder why life could be so hard
I wonder why it’s so hard for me to get a job
I wonder why a person can just lie
I wonder why when people die I don’t cry
I wonder why all I do is wonder
I wonder why it seems the streets just takin’ me under
I wonder why

A raw, beautiful and emotion-filled poem. It really touched me.

These are very personal questions, but they are ones that many, many people around the world wonder every day. It can be tough for such a personal poem to be universal and relatable, but this one does a good job of it, even if not every line applies to us exactly. Any chance of writing a follow-up poem considering what the answers might be?

My favorite lines: “why when people die I don’t cry” and “why all I do is wonder”. –Grandpa D

This poem is very creative and I like how the author starts each line, the pattern is nice. There are lots of wonders in this world and many of us have wonders and questions about things we sometimes don’t experience. We wonder because we want to learn and are curious about the world around us. You got this and remember the best is yet to come!
