Two Sides

By GD

My eyes look dry
But truly my heart cries
I’m peaceful to society’s eye
But inside I fight my demon’s cry
Two sides to each story
Two sides to a book
I’m an ex-felon but truly not a crook
Drugs have no need in my life
All I need is
Free-Minds
Books
And a pen to write

    GD,
I love the contrast you make between who the outside world sees you as and who you really are. You bring up some truly important points in this poem. I would love to read more from you. Please keep writing!

GD, you seem to have it together, you should continue to write and express yourself through your ability to write. Always think positively and grow from your mistakes.

    GD,

I want you to know that when I read this poem, I think of a lot of things that I tell myself. The part where you said, “Two sides to each story” and, “Two sides to a book” really resonated with me. I often tell myself that there are 364 other angles to look at a circle besides the one you are looking at.

    GD,

You have come to a deep understanding of an aspect of life. There are always two sides to a story like Yin in Yang and vice versa. Sometimes it’s better to not distinguish between what’s right and wrong but to let go and laugh at those that judge you.
