In my ocean, you are a rainbow fish
Because you have beautiful colors
In my grassy field, you are a flower
Because you smell good
In my galaxy you are a planet with moons
Because you keep our family together
In my heart you are the blood
Because you keep me alive
You are my world

This poem is so beautiful! It reminds me of my mom and all that she has done and sacrificed for myself and my family. I especially love the part, “In my galaxy you are a planet with moons/Because you keep our family together.” You really do an amazing job of capturing how beautiful this person is and how much they mean to you.

Hi Cj, my name is Emily and I attend university in Detroit. I came across this website from one of my classes where we are engaging in community and service. I thought your poem was beautiful. The love you have for your family and specifically this person truly shines through. I loved the wording you used to describe the beauty and greatness of your person. It seems as if they are the glue that holds everything together and I love the connection that you have. My favorite line would be “In the ocean you are a rainbow fish, because you are full of beautiful colors.” I have seen images of rainbow fish before and they are of true beauty. I can tell from this line how highly you think of your person and how wonderful they are. They keep you going and push you to be better. They are the one thing that is keeping you alive right now. For me, I have one of these myself and know how great it feels to have someone there for you. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem.

Right away, I could tell the love you have for the person in your poem. You have a way of words that expresses yourself, but also paints a beautiful picture of this person you love. I love how you compare them to a rainbow fish with all of their colors. I also like how you compare them to the galaxy. I can tell this person is someone that holds the glue together in your family. You did an awesome job with this poem. When I read this poem I thought about all the special people in my life that I love and adore. This person you are describing in this poem must be so special to you as well! I love how you say that this person has beautiful colors. When I think of that I think of someone who is not only beautiful on the outside, but someone is so beautiful on the inside. Someone who has a nice, pure heart that shows you all types of love and happiness. This person seems like they bring out the best in you which is the best kind of person. I loved your poem. I thought it was very sweet and such a great representation of how a close family unit impacts us. The reader can certainly see how much you care about and love the person you’re writing about. The third stanza “In my galaxy you are a planet with moons/Because you keep our family together” is my favorite stanza because you touch upon the importance of the moon in our world and how without the moon we would not be complete. I loved the many metaphors you used to explain your deep flow of love for your family and your admiration for that person. Keep up the great work!
