Poem: “Time to Time”

Time to Time

Time to time I think about dying
Time to time I think about crying
Time to time I think about trying
Time to time I think about lying
Time to time I can do good
Time to time I could do bad
Time to time I’m so sad

Everyday I think time to time. It can be about finishing a run, being motivated, or simply wanting to be alone. I think about whether I should cry in different situations or pretend to be fine. There is never the right time to do anything/ there isn’t a guide to say yes or no other than life. That’s what makes me time to time so sad is not knowing the consequences of my emotion.

This one hits deep. The repetition and the rhyming perfectly reflect the passing time that one spends in prison. All the time that goes by is enough time to reflect on your life multiple times, and you show that perfectly in just a few lines. The ending was particularly deep as it relates to depression that happens so often with those who are incarcerated. But this poem, it’s strong, its powerful, its well written, and it affected me in seven lines. You affected me in seven lines, which is some pretty incredible stuff. This is a wonderful poem, truly.

I’m sorry that you’re in a terrible headspace at times, but I hope you find comfort in knowing that you’re not alone. We’ve all had these moments where it feels like we can’t get our heads above water, but there will always be a point where we reach the surface. I enjoyed your language and how genuine your poem was because you were willing to be vulnerable with your audience.

    Poem: “Time to Time”
I like how you used repetition, because the words that you used at the end of each line were strong, it really tied the poem nicely. It is a great reflecting poem.

Time is an important word to understand. It will obviously take time for you to find yourself – that’s why we have a chance at life. Though you have negative thoughts, it is important that you figure out what you want to do with your life instead of thinking of sad thoughts. This is a great poem you have written, but I hope you do find time to find light in your life and have positive thoughts.

Thank you for being so vulnerable in your writing. Sometimes it feels like all we have is time. I hope you find joy amidst the pain and the sadness. We must take the time to search for the light amongst the dark. Keep searching and keep writing!

“To the author of “Time to Time”,

I am so sorry for what you are going through. Sometimes, it’s so helpful to have an outlet to express our grief and pain. I’m glad you’ve had an opportunity to do that. I hope that the time of you feeling this way has passed, and that you continue to have poetry to turn to.

    Best,

    Samantha

I think the repetition of ”Time to time” creates emphasis of all the thoughts, feelings and emotions you have. All of the thoughts help us figure out who were are as people and sometimes writing about it helps us figure out those things. Often times, people have trouble navigating where these strong emotions are coming from and why we feel the way we do which is why I encourage you to keep writing these poems because at the end of the day, everything will work out. Stay strong and keep up the amazing work with your poems!

While this piece may be short in length, its meaning is established powerfully through your repetition. I admire that so deeply. These statements show a true sense of humanity and raw emotions which I adore in writing. Writing has a very strong impact on me as a person and how I handle my own emotions, so I admire seeing others such as yourself use writing as an outlet to do the same. Thank you so much for sharing.

The repetition in this poem shows a strong message. I am sorry for what you are going through, and I think it is great that you are using this outlet to think and express your feelings. Sometimes we get lost in our thoughts but expressing these feelings is also crucial. Take care!

I like the repetition and rhyming of this piece. I think it is interesting how you switched from thinking to actions that you can do good. One part that stook out to me was where you said “I can do good” and then switch to “I could do bad” in past tense. It sounds like you go through a roller coaster of emotions but seeing a positive light in your situation is important. Good job!

Now this hit deep!!!! Every millisecond of the day I find myself thinking about something. Every tick of the clock represents a different thought of mine.
