$$ Money $$
By AJ
Money… money… money…
It’s what everyone out to get!
Drug dealers, prostitutes, police, people want it, illegal or legit.
It’ll have you doing things you’ll regret you did,
Stabbing, robbing, shooting everything above,
But in the end, it’s actually showing you no luv.
Think about it! Its nothing but paper with a dead president
And believe me, dying and going to jail for something that’s nothing but debt
Is not worth it!
So don’t listen to 50 Cent’s, “Get Rich or Die Trying” quote!
Because it will have you worshipping it as a GOD
With blind faith and material hope
So don’t let it stress you out, drive you crazy, or go out of your normal ways
Because at the end your gonna be judged on what you did to get it here on your earthly days.
Okay, yeah you need it no doubt dat’s true
To survive and live comfortable, and to get things necessary for you
There are people who’ve accumulated too much of it
Looking down on people belittling them and that’s not right.
Who are you to judge? You’re not the all knower.
You’re the child of Adam, so you’ve also taken’ a bite.
People even occupy Wall Street, just to go on strike
Until the police comes and tellem’ to take a hike
Money… money… money…
It’s like you’ve stabbed the entire globe with a long razor sharp knife
But before you killem’ let everyone know that
“you CAN’T take MONEY to the AFTERLIFE”
This poem is for people who think about money 24/7 . I just want people to know don’t let your whole life be about getting money. You will totally miss out on life’s lesson and not be happy about living, just stressed over paper. I want people to know dat money is not everything, you think it is. Don’t worship money, let it worship itself.

Hey man, I really liked this poem!
I want you to work on the timing with your syllables because your sentences can pretty much be read to a beat, with a few hiccups here and there, but overall pretty smooth.
Have you ever heard of iambic pentameter? It’s basically a fancy way of saying that you have 10 syllables per line in your poetry, and William Shakespeare (I think) came up with it for spoken word. There’s some other features about it, but I think if you could just start to write even (or close to even) syllables per line, you’re gonna get even more flow out of your work, and rhymes will sound awesome.
I hope you all keep on writing and keep up the good work!
You may not realize it until you get outta fed, but having a good handle (or even mastery of) using words can get you to pretty cool places. It’s all about saying the right thing at the right time.
READ A DICTIONARY!
Dear Free Mind Poet,
Wow. Your “$$ Money $$” poem is great. I love the way make it clear that just about everybody is guilty of worshiping it to some degree (“You’re the child of Adam, so you’ve also taken’ a bite.”). And the image of the paper with the dead president is excellent. The best part is how you know how your readers are going to react and you respond to them perfectly. Wise words!

I love this! it’s so true…..i would love to hear this set to music
You’ve got a pretty clear beat here, try reading it out loud and finding the rhythm… there’s a couple spots that get rough but you’ll be able to find them on your own and smooth them out. This would work awesome as a spoken word piece!
Amen!! And I like Quinn’s advice too, just a few tweaks and this could totally be read to a beat. And then maybe you can take your voice to the masses! (Like 50 Cent but with a different focus, huh? ;-)) Keep letting your voice be heard.
