A Face That Never Betrayed Me

By MK

I reveal no feeling
All through the day
All through the night
Life must end
Like a Tyson fight

On my face it’s bright as day
But in my eyes it’s dark as night

Why reveal all my feeling
When nobody care how you living
I feel so much
But show so little

You have put into words, what so many people feel.

The image in the middle of your face saying one thing but your eyes saying another is very haunting– I feel like I can see straight through your eyes into a whole different set of emotions. Hope you’ll keep revealing at least some of your feelings through poetry; this is really powerful!

It might be a little frightening to open yourself up, especially when life teaches you to bottle yourself up. Writing is a great way to express yourself. You can be so honest on paper, it’s liberating. More than anything you need to be honest with you first and foremost. Trust yourself, keep writing.

Love this poem, especially the last line. Says a lot in so few words.

    MK,

I often feel the exact way that you have written about in your poem. When I feel down and depressed, I hide it with a smile and put my thoughts and emotions away. When it boils down to it, your family is often the only one who can understand what you are going through.

    MK,

It’s important to let your feelings out instead of neglecting it. There is somebody out there that cares a lot about you. The important thing is to keep being positive and brush out the negative thoughts.
