My Life

By MD

Did you ever do push ups

And it seem like you don’t get bigger?

Have you ever spoke

And it feel like no one is listening?

You ever want to learn

And there is no teacher?

Well, I have

It’s not fun

So I turned to the street

And thought I found love

All I found was a game

That can’t be changed

There was no love

And u must play for keeps

In my eyes

There was more dying than living

More crying than smiling

More sad than happy

I know what it’s like to feel invisible and as if no one could care less if I were there, I have felt like no listens to me, and I know what it’s like to feel alone, I used to cry more than smile, now I smile more than I cry. I hope things get better.

I just found your blog. I’m an X heroin addict of 18 yrs. with 4 yrs. sober 11-04-2012. I know what it’s like to be in that world and then try to find your place in this world. Some people are just plain a***h*** about it. In my case and other female felons’ case SOME of the non-criminal women really give us a hard time and think we are just plain whores and joke about the hell we went through and/or are still going through. I’m in college now to become a drug counselor. Plus I’m trying to come up with ways to help the women felons. The treatment I received from some forum members spurred me to go in that direction. This is an excellent thing for the people in prison!! They and this blog have a new follower and fan 😉

Congratulations on your sobriety and for taking a crappy lot, and using it to help others. Your story, and the others sharing here are an inspiration. Stay strong (and focused) and continue to overcome every day! God Bless!
